About the Author

A Reformed Hot Mess is a blog, started in 2017, written by Becky.  A 40-something, uh, well, reformed hot mess.  Obviously.

Becky grew up the oldest of three children of a Methodist minister and a SAHM.  They moved often, which basically taught her how to pack a house, unpack a house, and how to be extremely organized.

Or maybe that was just because of her first-born birth order.

Becky has been married twice, and divorced twice.  Both husbands had the same first name.  She has three mostly grown children.  These five people have played their parts in making Becky who she is today, but will be mentioned sparingly on the blog.  They have their own lives, and do not want them shared on the internet because of their association with her.  Or at least that’s what the restraining orders said.

Becky currently lives with her significant other Sam (not married, not her baby daddy, and boyfriend is so not a word a 40 something woman uses) and his daughter Zoe.  Because they live with Becky, they are considered fair game and will be blogged about extensively.  That is the price they pay for living with her.  They provide Becky with endless blog fodder.  If they don’t like the way they are written about, they have the option to behave better.  She loves them anyway.

Becky started blogging back in 2004, if you can count two posts that year blogging.  She’s been to jail more times than she likes to admit out loud. Although to her credit she hasn’t been since 2013 and that’s a record.  She also lives with bipolar disorder and hot flashes.  She wishes those were the names of fish, or hamsters, or some kind of family pet.  Unfortunately they aren’t.

A Reformed Hot Mess is where Becky talks about the hot mess her life used to be, how she is now a mostly responsible adult, and the lessons she learned along the way.
